48 veterans take part in Honor Flight to Washington

COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Local veterans from four different wars got the chance to fly down to Washington, D.C., on Friday. The Capital District Honor Flight took off just before dawn. TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- In Troy, volunteers highlighted healthy eating with the region's latest Nutritious Choices Learning Path. The 20 ft. walkway brings nutrition to life with interactive activities and informational posts meant to educate and encourage children about the benefits of health foods. The Southern California Air Show in Riverside kicks off this weekend as a stunning display of spectacular aircraft glides across Southern California skies.Admission and parking are free for the two-day event from April 22-23 at the March Air Reserve Base. A homeless man from Florida who has been accused of six felony charges in Ventura County, including human trafficking, pled not guilty at his arraignment on Thursday.According to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, 25-year-old Arayveion Edwards was pulled over regarding an alleged stolen vehicle on Tuesday. When officers approached the vehicle and contacted Edwards and his female passenger, she “pleaded with the officers for help." Infant rescued from suspected human trafficker in Southern California “Edwards is accused of bringing the victim from Florida to California and forcing the victim to engage in commercial sex work by using violence and psychological coercion,” the DA’s Office said in a statement. The Florida transient is officially charged with felony human trafficking, possession of a loaded unregistered firearm and magazines, pimping and other charges. LIVERMORE – Two men have been arrested in connection with a robbery Friday morning in Livermore, authorities said.Officers were called to the 200 block of South K Street around 11:30 a.m. for a report of a robbery outside a Wells Fargo Bank branch, said Livermore police spokesperson Azenith Smith. The victim told police he was robbed of cash as he left the bank.A short time later, police found a vehicle matching the description of the suspects’ car at the Bank of America parking lot in the 1700 block of Railroad Avenue, Smith said.Officers arrested a pair of Antioch men, ages 20 and 18, Smith said. ARLINGTON, Texas – Mark Kotsay was in the air flying with his team to Texas when he learned of the A’s Las Vegas land deal in a text from general manager David Forst.Less than 48 hours later, the manager and his team – just like A’s fans – were still processing the news that the franchise almost certainly is leaving Oakland.“I feel for the fans with this announcement,” Kotsay said Friday before the A’s opened a three-game series against the Rangers at Globe Life Stadium. “Not just the fans, but the employees that have [spent] their lives here, most that have been in this organization probably longer than I have.
